  • DESCRIPTION: A scarce sea chart of New York Harbor. Shows an area from Sandy Hook to lower Manhattan, all of Staten Island, Jersey City and eastward on the south shore of Long Island to Jones Beach. It is extremely detailed, with extensive soundings, sailing notes and surveys. Insets include four profile views of the approaches to the Harbor.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: First issued in 1845, this example has updates to 1854. Some manuscript additions. Overall a very nice example of this working sea chart.

  • CONDITION: Good condition save for some repaired splitting along lower center fold and damp staining. Wide margins. Black & white.
